The SSO Proxy server is soon to be retired by Microsoft, itslearning has developed a new IDP solution which supersedes the SSO Proxy Server. Its Learning will be migrating your school's domains from Monday next week working down the list alphabetically.

If you are accessing emails via the learning platform, you should not see any downtime and will continue to access emails as they were previously.

*********If, however you access emails via a mail client, you will need to either update the password or remove and re-add the profile**************

The password to be used for mail clients will be the itslearning password, I suggest you either follow the steps below to update the password in the mail client or alternatively set the itslearning password to be the same as your existing office 365 password. This should work in most cases.


Close Outlook.
Expand and 'Remove from vault' the stored Office365 credentials in control panel > Credential Manager.
Reload Outlook.
When prompted, input Office365 password.
Now connected!

The issues that have been seen so far are that the its learning account is being locked causing the Office 365 account to be suspended because the domain has been migrated and users have not updated their passwords. To prevent this happening in Central Bedfordshire, Its learning will be disabling the sync service after the migration, (the only downside to this is new its learning accounts will not have an email address created until the sync service is switched back on).

At the end of July, the early learner course interface is being retired from itslearning, this means that it will no longer be possible to create new early learner courses. Any existing early learner courses will be converted to ordinary courses. Our design team is looking into how we optimise the new itslearning for our youngest users, and we will communicate these updates at a later date.

A number of facilities that Central Bedfordshire users will be lost with the new version, a few of these are listed here:
Skins will no longer be supported i.e. space/animal misfits
Early years interface will not be supported
ALL CONTENT on a course 'dashboard' will be lost when upgrading

I have been assured that any/all schools who wish to continue with their EXISTING platform will be able to do so for the foreseeable future. This has several advantages, the biggest of which is not having to go through the undoubted upgrading issues. By waiting hopefully any problems will be ironed out AND it may be that in a years time scripts will have been written to allow your existing content to be migrated to the new version should you wish to venture down this route.

If you do not have much content on a course dashboard you may well want to move over to the new version, if you do please let me know.

We are pleased to host the Flurrish 'Number Bee' times table competition and are really looking forward to seeing pupils meeting up  for a fun and friendly day - with 5 android tablets to be won (Thanks to Partnership Education).

We have some learning activities in between the competition rounds and there will be plenty of opportunities for staff to talk to each other and to technicians about the Maths app.

All U.K. schools are welcome - even if you are not using the app, You can send a team of four pupils (up to Year 6).

We will provide the devices for the competition, so you don't need to bring any with you.

There is a solution which should sort this out WITHOUT having to change passwords on its learning etc.
This is the solution:
1. Go to the bottom of this page
2. Click on the link in the right hand corner that says "Clean Its Learning Cookies"
3. Try logging into its learning and then mail again and it should work!!
4. IF THIS DOES NOT WORK THEN TRY CLEARING OUT THE BROWSER CACHE AS WELL

This issue is caused by a security certificate (for your school mail domain) which should be applied automatically failing to do so, this means that Its Learning are having to apply for a new certificate and apply it manually, it takes time to apply the new certificates so please hold for a little while longer.

Hopefully service will be restored as soon as possible.
If you REALLY need to access mail then there is a workaround:
1. type in the following address: https://login.microsoftonline.com
2. Type in your email address (in full) and put in your normal password
This should get you into mail, however if you have changed your password it may not work - try your previous one!

If your mail is affected you will get the "SSO is not configured" message, although the technical team are attempting to avert this by renewing certificates it can take a while for them to filter through. If your school is affected by this when you try to access your mail please understand this is a temporary situation and it should be rectified within 24-48 hours. It is still possible to access mail via another route - the link is on the Learning Portal (right hand side)
Its Learning would like to apologise for this situation and assure you that they are working to rectify the issue.

I have been informed by e2bn that YouTube for Schools is now available on all student profiles when using the internet IN SCHOOL (including the Children's Library profile). The main YouTube site is not blocked on the Staff profile and this remains unchanged.
If there are videos you think are suitable and educational but that are currently not within the YouTube Education framework if you let e2bn know in the usual way they can add them to the E2BNProtex playlists.

This is a major development from Google/YouTube and one that e2bn have been lobbying for for some time: E2BNProtex will be the first filtering platform to make this new service available to all its 600,000 students

Every school hierarchy will now sit under this structure instead of Bedfordshire/default.  We had to wait until all migrations were completed before making the change as this would have affected our migration scripts if we had implemented this earlier.

In Internet Explorer go to 'Tools' and click on 'Internet Options'
Click on the Security Tab then Inernet zone find the button 'Custom Level' and click on it.
Scroll about halfway down to find the Miscellaneous area,
Look for 'Display Mixed Content' and 'enable' it.
Click OK and OK again for the main dialogue window.
Problem sorted!

+ If you are using ie 8 or 9 make sure that Tools - Compatability View Settings is ticked (bottom left) for Display all websites in Compatability View. This ensures that you will still be able to edit documents from within the platform.

If your school asked us to migrate users from the old Netmedia Learning Platform, usernames and passwords are here are unchanged except you now need to add a 3 character 'postfix' at the end of your username (for example a user who logged in previously as dlloyd at Vandyke Upper School would now log in as dlloyd.vu).  A list of all the postfixes is being circulated to schools as they migrate.
